Dr. Angelina Ruffin, Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education

Angelina Ruffin, PhD, Senior Grants Officer, articulates what the Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education is doing differently in its approach to investing in gun violence research and education. Dr. Ruffin has dedicated her career to researching, evaluating, and supporting best practices in violence prevention. In leading the Center’s grantmaking strategy, she helped to design and implement its equitable grantmaking framework. This framework facilitates a fair and inclusive process that bolsters the expertise of scientists and leaders from the most impacted communities in researching, implementing, and scaling interventions to reduce gun violence.
