The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has become commonplace in clinical practice and research. As firearm injury researchers, clinicians, and practitioners consider appropriate uses, knowing both the benefits of AI and the potential harms can help drive intentional engagement with AI tools.

This session covers:

  • How AI is currently being used in practice by clinicians and patients
  • The benefits of AI in both research and clinical practice in the field of violence prevention and intervention
  • The challenges associated with using AI and considerations for the current time and for the future

Speakers include:

  • Tami Benton, MD, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
  • Antonio “Lorr Tone” Moore, Social Media Trust and Safety Labs
  • Desmond Patton, PhD, MSW, University of Pennsylvania

This event was part of the Center’s webinar series designed to strengthen the capacity, confidence, and visibility of researchers, community-based organizations, and other leaders advancing solutions to prevent firearm-related violence.
